Our Approach

We answer the why before the what. Knowing your story from the inside out, and why you do what you do, is the foundation of any successful project.

Client Alignment

We gather as much information as possible from you, putting ourselves in the shoes of the customer, employer and shareholder. We ask questions and get to know your needs, desires and expectations. The information is then compiled into a creative brief which will guide the project.

This helps us get to know you needs, desires and expectations and allows us to propose a solution that represents the best possible outcome for you.

Research & Strategy

We research your competitors, similar products, services or companies, gaps in the market or industry, and opportunities for differentiation. This includes visual research into the design styled typically used in your industry.

This will result in a proposed solution that will identify the expected benefits of implementing the solution in addition to our proposed engagement model. We’ll then collaborate with you on these items until you’re comfortable that the proposal represents your best path forward.

Creative Exploration

Whether through visuals like mopboards or verbals like brand/product messaging, we always create a cohesive “Theory” of your project’s direction before we dive into design. Having a clear direction ensures a more successful outcome that feels intentional and thought-out.

Execution

We develop initial design concepts, providing multiple options in early rounds, so you can make a meaningful choice between equally-viable options. This is valuable for the end result and for kindling the feedback it takes to get there.

Revise & Refine

In most project, we include refinements in our process. We think this is critical because we want you to be thrilled-to-bits with the results, and this also encourages a collaborative aspect between our designer and yourself.

Final Delivery

This is when we supply you with the final designs, launch your site, or send products to print. The delivery of a design brief usually marks the end of the project but it doesn’t necessarily mark the end of the designer’s relationship with the project or yourself. We can continue to support you and be your creative consultant for as long as you need.

You May Be Wondering...

Every story and the brand or company behind it is one-of-a-kind so each project with us will vary in length, steps and expectations.

The above stages is a broad overview of our process, but get in touch and we can chat to you about how your specific project outline would look.

We believe every brand in unique, and every story is one of a kind. Because of that, we don’t have a set price list for our services. Our process is a bit more fluid and custom- we like to consider your actual business needs, resourcing (if you or your team can undertake a portion of the work), budget (what you’re in the position to spend) and your target outcomes to determine what pricing we’re able to make work.

In general, most projects will have a core project manager in the form of one of our skilled designers. We will scale up as necessary- we might add a developer, a social media specialist, an illustrator – all depending on what you need!

Regardless, we intentionally keep our team small in order to adapt as needed and keep the flow of communication direct.

Have a look at our work, delve into the capabilities listed on our site and have a chat with us! We love what we do and love telling people about it even more.

Our favourite clients are those who are passionate about what they do and kind to those around them. Beyond that, we love people who look to us as their creative counterparts, who strive to share their story with the world, and who view the design process as an opportunity, not just as a deliverable.

It's simple stuff, however, it makes a big difference to the impact we can make on the creative portrayal of our clients' stories.
